A Paranormal Murder Mystery is a murder mystery where magic is involved. Curses, magical artefacts, or other paranormal tools could be used to commit the murder, and/or the victim is a paranormal being.
Urban Fantasy is a genre of fantasy set in an urban area. In this case, while the university is outside the scope of the town, it has all the contemporary (modern) amenities. (Yes, that includes mobile phones and the internet)
Dark Academia is a vibe setting that focuses on higher education, mysteries, secret societies, and morbid themes. Banecroft has it all.
Slow-Burn Romance means there is a romance in the story, but it would take time to bloom throughout the series. Romance is an essential part of self-discovery, especially for characters like Rose, who never had the opportunity to experience it.
It’s a sub-plot, meaning it’s not the main focus but an integral part of the story.
Death’s Legacy is a series for ages 16+, and while it has dark and heavy themes and doesn’t shy away from talking about sex and sexual encounters, it doesn’t (and will not) have explicit (spicy) content on page.
